In Japanese, two people riding the same motorcycle or bicycle are called Futari-nori. Those who violate this traffic law can be fined up to 100,000 yen.
As reported on Yahoo! News Japan, when the episode aired, there were those who pointed out that the scene appears to show the characters doing just that. Now, the creators of the anime spoke that the forbidden is possible in fiction.
Super Cub and his scene breaking the law
The anime’s spokesperson admitted that the scene that appears was based on reality, adding that the show was created with the supervision of Honda, a Japanese company that makes cars and sponsors the iconic motorcycle that we see in Japanese animation.
This information was released thanks to Yahoo! News Japan, which contacted Kadokawa, the company behind the anime. The official spokesperson added the following: “This story is fiction. People, groups, and names are fictitious and have no connection to reality. ”
Parts of this anime look like a fantasy, but other parts are realistic, especially when it comes to the motorcycle. This could have alerted the legal reckless calls or even made the program appear irresponsible.
While the incessant talk about motorcycles is grounded in reality, the show is not actually a representation of actual reality. Imagine if every anime was called for every legal infraction, no matter how small; we’d have a lot of trouble with Naruto jumping on the neighbors’ roofs.
The anime is about Koguma, a lonely girl with no parents, money, friends, hobbies, or plans for the future. After many days of riding his bike to school, he decides to buy a motorcycle.
Then he buys a “Super Cub” motorcycle from a local dealer and his world begins to change. From going places you never knew to make new friends. Simply put, it is a realistic Slice of Life story set in the real world area of Mukama, in Hokuto City, Yamanashi, Japan.
The anime is a Studio Kai adaptation produced by Kadokawa and premiered on April 7, 2021. The series is currently licensed by Funimation and Super Cub can also be seen on the Crunchyroll platform.
